Nobody has a “perfect” smile naturally. In fact, some say that really beautiful smiles are made that way because of minor flaws. Still, if you have the opportunity to cover over some unsightly issues, like a chipped, discolored, or misshapen tooth, there is no harm in that–especially if it is a cause for embarrassment.

If you have any of these obvious imperfections, we can help you to feel good about your smile again. There are a couple options available. The “gold standard” in coverups are called porcelain veneers. Like the name implies, they are thin porcelain fronts that are custom-made to be cemented to your teeth. Another more affordable option is composite resin bonding. Unlike the veneers, bonding takes only one visit to your dentist and is also a permanent solution. Although, those who can, generally get bonding done as an interim treatment while they are waiting for their porcelain veneers to be made, which can take several days.

Bonding your teeth is a simple procedure. The resin is mixed to the exact color of your natural teeth. It is applied and shaped by the dentist in-office. Once set, activated by a special light, the resin hardens and is then polished to further conform to the identical look of your other teeth. Bonding can be accomplished in one day, but last just as long as you take good care of them.
